There are many calculation engines, although few are as complete and intuitive as Maxima.

The graphics generated by this program have a high quality, either in two or three dimensions. It works as an interface and is called wxMaxima. In it, you must type all the commands you want to perform and then the calculations will start to be developed immediately.

With Maxima you can do numerous operations that, without its help, are certainly complicated, such as Fourier analysis or matrix algebra. All formulas can be exported as images or in TeX format, being postscript in the case of graphics. It also supports other formats such as WXM, TXT, MAC and PS.

Although its syntax is somewhat old, Maxima is an option to consider if you need to perform calculations with some complexity.
